Magnetic Force Fields

Here’s a way to play a new game called “Magnetic Hockey!”

For this magnet experiment, you’ll need:

Three or more ring magnets. If you need to purchase one that will work with this magnet experiment, try Dowling #SS10

How This Magnet Experiment Works

Review the Floating Magnets experiment, as this exercise uses the same principle of magnetic poles. Place three ring magnets on a smooth, flat surface, and arrange two of the magnets so that they both repel the third. Make two goals on the table and play a game of hockey!

Why This Magnet Experiment Works

A magnetic field surrounds all magnets and extends in all directions. The two magnets repel the “puck” with their invisible force.
