Our Story

Dowling’s roots reach back to the 40’s, but things really snapped into place in 1986. Some of Dowling’s employees had teachers for spouses, and those teachers, being resourceful as teachers are (wink, wink), gave Dowling’s line an A+ for educational potential. Marriage being what it is, the employees cobbled together various parts and pieces to create the magnetic teaching tools their spouses sought. The spouses and their students used them with great success; other teachers saw them and wanted them; and so on. You know how that goes.

Needless to say, making engaging, educational magnetic products for students and teachers was far more attractive than selling stock screw starters and nail drivers…Voila, modern-day Dowling was born!

Have we come a long way since those early days! Now we encourage lots of tinkering and innovation. And we do our homework to make sure that our products are in compliance with the latest educational standards. In fact, Dowling is led by a former teacher…so we’ve come full circle, and you can be positive that when you purchase a Dowling product, you’re buying the highest quality magnets available for your classroom!

Little magnet elves tie on their red aprons and start working very hard. Just kidding! Dowling Magnets.com works through Shopatron to process and manage your order, ensuring that your transaction is convenient, professional, and secure. Shopatron finds the dealer closest to you who can ship this order from stock. Most orders arrive within 3-7 days by ground delivery.

Don’t panic! Just click the orange “Account” button and you’ll land on our registration page. On the right side, under “Returning Customer” click “Forgot Password?” and we’ll email you instructions for resetting.

Yes! After all, everyone loves surprises. To ship to an address other than your bill to address, just type the address into the shipping address form.

Of course! Sometimes our prices do change (for better and worse!) and sometimes we make printing or programming mistakes, but if there’s a change we will let you know before we process your order.

Do you offer gift cards?

We don’t sell gift cards, but you can purchase and ship one of our products to someone else. Everyone loves surprises and we’re sure you have great taste.
