A Magnet Experiment Makes Learning Fun
Experiments with magnets and electromagnets can be built and demonstrated for science fairs and classroom projects in elementary school through high school.
Our Most Advanced Magnet Experiments
Dowling's Science Discovery Kits are best suited for ages 10 and up. Each kit includes a comprehensive activity booklet with up to six supporting magnet experiments all leading up to the main project. All the main components and necessary magnets are included, but some household items may be needed and adult supervision is strongly suggested.

These videos provide a helpful guide for building the main project in each of our Science Discovery Kits.
Magnet Levitation: Build a Levitating Train - Build a train that "flies" through the power of magnets! It's easy!
Electromagnet - Learn about electromagnets by building one yourself! All you need are the contents of Dowling's Electromagnet Kit and a few simple household items.
Electric Motor Generator - Here's an illuminating magnet experiment - power a light bulb without plugging it in.
Magnets in Motion: Create Magnetic Brakes - Here's a simple magnet experiment that creates a very cool effect. Build your own magnet brakes!
For Younger Scientists
Please check out our Hands-On™ Magnet Experiment Kits and our Simply Science® kits especially designed to introduce kids ages 3 and up to the mystery and wonders of magnetism, levitation, magnetic pole patterns and more.
Have fun experimenting!
